Our historic destinations are perfect for family or group tours and provide beautiful and unique settings for your wedding, meeting or reception. All our sites are easily accessible from I-264. Special events are always on the calendar for the history museums. Check out our upcoming events or call for information.

Free Admission for Military Families

June 3, 2017 through September 4, 2017

Francis Land House & Princess Anne County Training School/Union Kempsville High School Museum

  • New this year, the History Museums are now a registered Blue Star Museum location! Military families will receive free admission between Memorial Day and Labor Day to any of the Virginia Beach History Museums. For more information on the Blue Star Museums program and how to take advantage of the free admission, please check out their website.
  • Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day, May 29, through Labor Day, September 4, 2017. The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps - and up to five family members.
  • ​Note that we are extending this offer for free admission to military retirees with an ID card.

Hours: Closed until 2018 to replaster the north and south walls, repoint mortar, update the electrical systems, and update the HVAC system.​

Hours: 10 am – 4 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and the following Saturdays this fall: Sept. 16, Oct. 7, Nov. 4, Dec. 9 (Available for group tours with advance reservations)​



Admission for Francis Land House or Lynnhaven House: Adults: $8.00; Seniors: $7.00; Students: $5.00 (including college students with school ID); Those under age 6 are free.

Admission to Princess Anne County Training School/Union Kempsville High School Museum is free.

Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more with 14 days' advance notice. Call (757) 385-5100 for prices and reservations.
