We are excited to announce that the historic Thoroughgood House (1636 Parish Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23455) is NOW OPEN for FREE tours!
Current Thoroughgood House Tour Schedule:
Thursdays: 10am-4pm; 5:30pm-8pm
Thursday, Friday and Saturday tours from 10am-4pm will run every 45 minutes. Thursday evening tours from 5:30pm-8pm will run every 30 minutes. Starting August 1, Sunday tours will also be available every 45 minutes from 1pm-5pm.
Admission remains FREE, but advanced reservations are no longer required. Tours will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Please call 757-385-5100 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions about tours.
Museum guests are encouraged to wear a facial covering. Please bring your own, or pick up a disposable facial covering at the front desk.
Virginia Beach History Museums staff and volunteers will be wearing facial coverings.
The Thoroughgood House, built circa 1719, is one of the oldest surviving colonial homes in Virginia Beach and is a National Historic Landmark.
At this time, the Francis Land House and Lynnhaven House remain closed for restoration. Also, the Princess Anne County Training School/Union Kempsville High School Museum is located within the Virginia Beach City Public Schools’ Renaissance Academy, which is currently only open to students and faculty.
