Celebrating the spirit of freedom, family and fun, this FREE family-friendly concert is a grand finale to a weekend celebrating Juneteenth and gathering with our friends, families and neighbors again! The event is hosted annually by Virginia Beach History Museums and Princess Anne Country Training School/Union Kempsville High School Alumni & Friends Association to honor African American Music Month.

This FREE outdoor, in-person concert held at the Renaissance Academy grounds features a Hampton Roads’ favorite, TFC Band , on a rare break from the road, with their signature musical blend of Classic Soul, Motown, Funk and more! The show features special guests and a Hampton Roads Youth Poet Laureate Ambassador from Teens With a Purpose! TFC Band takes the stage from 3:30pm-5pm, so celebrate Fathers’ Day brunch, join us for the show, and be out in time for dinner!

The Princess Anne County Training School/Union Kempsville High School Museum will be open before, during, and after the show allowing audiences to learn about the first high school in Virginia Beach for African Americans. Be among the first to visit the museum since COVID-19 restrictions have lifted!

The atmosphere is outdoors and casual, seating in family groups. We strongly encourage you to bring your own lawn chairs, comfortable dancing shoes, and water.
