Historian and educator Rebecca Suerdieck will show guests how to cook over an open fire using colonial cooking tools. Rebecca portrays Marye Bucke, a 17th century woman living in early Virginia. Watch the several steps involved in making cheese over an open hearth, and learn more about early cooking techniques in the area. Guided tours of the Thoroughgood House will be free on November 16, and run hourly with the first tour at 10:30 AM and the last tour beginning at 3:30 PM. Explore the Thoroughgood House Education Center to learn about cooking techniques of the Virginia Indians. Make your own pinch pot and cordage to take home!
